Bangalore Amateur Racing – Release and Waiver of Liability

Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity and Parental Consent Agreement (“Agreement”)

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in BAR GIVING BACK FUND RAISER IIT, Run & Duathlon- Organized by the BAR Team  (“Activity”) held on 15^th FEBRUARY 2026 at KIADB HI-TECH DEFENCE AEROSPACE PARK PHASE II KIADB ROAD NO1, DEVANAHALLY, KARNATAKA-562114.Bangalore – I, for myself, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin:

Acknowledge, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of Bicycling and Running Activities and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activity. I further acknowledge that the Activity will be conducted over public roads and facilities open to the public during the Activity and upon which the hazards of travelling are to be expected. I further agree and warrant that if at any time I believe the conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the activity.

Fully understand that: (a) bicycling and running activities involve risks and dangers of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis, and death (“Risks”); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the Activity, the condition in which the Activity takes place (KIADB HI-TECH DEFENCE AEROSPACE PARK PHASE II KIADB ROAD NO1, DEVANAHALLY, KARNATAKA-562114.Bangalore), or the negligence of the “Releases” named below; (c) there may be other risks and social and economic losses either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I incur as a result of my participation in the Activity.

Hereby release, discharge, and covenant not to sue the organizing team or part thereof, BAR Team, BAR Council members, BAR volunteers, Sita Bhateja Charitable Trust, its trustees, Giving Back program and its trustees/volunteers, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, and employees, other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, police department and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises on which the Activity takes place, participants, track owners, officials, rescue personnel’s, any other person present in the premises, promoters, surveyors, underwriters, consultants and other person or entities who gives recommendations, directions or instructions or engage in risk evaluation or loss control activities regarding the premises or activities, their directors, officers, agents and employees all for the purpose (each considered one of the “Releases” herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the “Releasees” or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations, and I further agree that if, despite this release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the Releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as a result of such claim.

I understand that some or whole part of the ride/run may take place on open road with heavy unmanaged traffic and I take the full responsibility of that  condition and will not blame or accuse or hold responsible anyone pre / during / post event. 

I agree that to ride a bicycle/run in the event requires lot of physical and mental fitness and alertness all the time. 

I agree to be solely responsible for any unforeseen mishap, injury, breakdown during the event. 

There may be other risks which are not known to me or difficult to foresee for which also I will be solely responsible. 

I must not be intoxicated.

I understand that the ongoing traffic on the open road will be at a high speed. 

I understand that there might be vehicular movements from opposite direction at unpredictable place and speed which may come and crash on me head-on and for that also I will hold myself solely responsible. 

I assume all risks at my own volition including but not limited to serious injury, disablement and potential loss of life arising out of my use of equipment, services and facilities available to me. 

Will comply with all the verbal / video / signboard directions given by anybody related to BAR and should ask for any explanations to my satisfaction should I not fully understand these. 

Will use my best endeavours to ride with due care and skill. 

Will use the entire services and facilities at entirely on my own risk as I find them and with a prior knowledge of the dangers. 

Consent to receive any medical treatment which the ambulance or medical team considers advisable in the event that I’m injured or suffer an illness on the premises. 

That my participation in the event may be terminated if my behaviour or actions are deemed by the judgement of the event officials to be dangerous to myself or others and no monies will be refunded. 

Participants whose behaviour is deemed dangerous or reckless and that jeopardises the safety of others may be excluded from attending the future events of BAR. 

BAR event may be terminated due to environmental or other conditions beyond the control of the BAR organisers and officials and volunteers. 

That BAR doesn’t provide personal accident insurance for participants, nor does it provide or require third party public liability insurance for any participants and activities. Or the negligence of the “RELEASEES” named above.

That this agreement shall remain in full force and effect for all activities I engage in at any period of time.

COVID Liability waiver

Your attendance to this ITT event is under these terms-

1. You do not have any COVID-19 symptoms, do not suspect recent exposure to the virus, and have not knowingly been in contact with someone with COVID-19 recently. Else, please inform the organizers immediately, even on the day of the event. The organizers will transfer your registration to a future race (within the next 12 months) without any penalty.
2. If you have contracted this COVID-19 in the past; please ensure that you have fully recovered from this illness before you participate in this event. We encourage you to inform the organizers details of such on the day of the event.
3. If you have been quarantined prior to this event because of exposure to a family member/ at office or any exposure, please ensure your participation or attendance at this event is only AFTER completion of 16 days of quarantine.
4. This event is being organized only after receiving clear guidelines and permissions from the government for holding sporting events. In case the govt requires us to cooperate in contact tracing or any other details in the unfortunate event that the illness spreads among attendees, we will inform attendees of such a request, we will cooperate and encourage full cooperation for the benefit of all involved.
5. You are assuming a risk of becoming ill with COVID-19 if you attend this event. BAR organizers might or might not have screened participants and other attendees for COVID-19 at this event. BAR will not assume any responsibility or liability in the unlikely event that attendee(s) do contract the illness during or through participation at the event.
6. That you have received at least one dose of an approved Covid vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to this event

I have read this agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it and have signed it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.

It is hereby declared that the information’s and particulars furnished above are true and correct to the best of my / our knowledge and belief and nothing has been concealed. I/ we have read over, understood the above term (s) / rule (s)/ regulation (s) and agree to be bound by them.
